The original track is a banger with hard-hitting drums by ?uestlove, subtle electronic influences in the beat and a vocal sample off Joeski Love’s ‘Pee-Wee’s Dance’ from 1986 in the chorus, scratched by DJ Jazzy Jeff. DJ Devastate reworked this song into a complete new vibe, but still matching the raw lyrics by Black Thought, Dice Raw and Peedi Peedi.

Nex mixtape out with Fremdtunes & Wax Poetics!

Fremdtunes invited Swedish DJ Devastate (BBE Records) to do a mix for Wax Poetics and to celebrate the release OptiMace’s “The Future Is Not What It Used to Be – Part 1,” a brand new 7-inch out on November 24 2011 with remixes by Big Mister Doom, KRSUR, and Illy Symphony.

Mellow Madness, Vol. 2 is a mix full of laid back music inspired by the Fremdtunes sound. The mix is compiled and mixed by DJ Devastate. Devastate is a producer/DJ from South Sweden. His jazzy instrumental debut album Movement/Silence was released on BBE recordings early 2010. Devastate also released a track on label sampler Fremdtunes – The Series 2 and is currently working on a brand new instrumental solo album and a production album with his crew Elite Fleet.

Keyboardist Fredrik Segerfalk is a good friend of mine. He played various instruments on many of the tracks on my album "Movement/Silence". Segerfalk is a really talented and easy to collaborate with and we are currently planning for new projects/recordings this winter.

Segerfalk runs the studio ”Analog Sweden” located in Helsingborg and I’m fortunate enough to be able to use it when I need to. The studio is focused vintage synthesizers and analog studio equipment. When the studio needed to sell off a classic Mini Moog Segerfalk did a video demonstrating this legendary synthesizers full potential. I had a chance to meet dutch artist Mister Adam when playing in Tilburg this summer. He did som super crazy live painting while we where spinning at the venue. Me and Adam will definitely collaborate more in the future. Thought i would upload some work from his new project "Mashville" and the painting he did this summer enjoy!

"Mashville is a collaborative art project initiated by Mister Adam and drJay. Likeminded artists are invited to exchange or create images and ideas in order to create a surprising screenprint. One of the parties creates an image and then passes it on to the collaborating artist. The image goes back and forth, until both parties are satisfied with the obtained result. Finally that result will be screenprinted. A process we started to call "image pingpong", the Mashville way."

Recorded a DJ-Mix for Kärleksklubben new campaign "Make It Funkier". Kärleksklubben is one of South Swedens premiere clubs for urban music and for this video they have collaborated with Swedish artist and Secret Wars champion Ossian Theselius. The concept is easy, Kärleksklubben can make anything funkier. Regardless how well established and respected a brand is Kärleksklubben will pimp it up. I was featured on the latest edition of "Nightmares On Wax". This edition is called "Wax Da Beach". This double CD also features Erykah Badu, Will I.Am, Negghead & George Duke. The track on the compilation is called "Don't Stop" and features Segerfalk on rhodes piano and vocoder.

"George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E/Nightmares On Wax has long been a member of the Warp records family. His music was some of the first released on the highly regarded, pioneering electronic label home to artists such as LFO, Jamie Lidell, Autechre and Aphex Twin. Back in 1988 he released his debut album on Warp and has built up a massive global following of loyal fans and connoisseurs of good music alike. After releasing his fifth studio album E.A.S.E. in 2007, George fulfilled his lifelong dream of starting a record label and Wax On Records was born. About two years ago me and Break DJ Kid Skraam from Malmö produced a track for the "Battle Of The Year" Worldwide soundtrack. The joint was called "True School Foundation" and it's produced by me and Kid Skraam and Features Diplomatic on funky Guitar. Heavy funk sound made for breaking! Last year Kid Skraam arranged a break event in Malmö. I just got online surfing youtube and i saw the trailer for that event. The dope breaking is from crew "De La Kings" and the music is our track called "True School Foundation". Better late then never...

Gig in Holland with Fremdtunes (Releaseparty)

Came back from a great weekend with DJ Optimus & the Fremdtunes crew. Optimus picked me up at the airport (Friday) and took me to his studio/house in Rotterdam. Dope beats, studio and food. Later that same night Optimus had a gig at Breda Jazzfestival together with Carlos De Wijs. The festival seem to be one of the big events of the summer with people and stages everywhere. I had a walk to check out the vibes. During saturday we took the opportunity to work on some beats and came up with some cool stuff. Then it was time to leave for Tilburg and the venue 031. The gig was the Fremdtunes labelnight. I did a set with two other DJ’s (Coco Bryce & Solo Moderna). The graphical designer for the label Mister Adam painted some amazing stuff live! Good times...

Erik L also worked with artists such as Frank n Dank, Kissey Asplund, Dynamite MC and Hezekiah to name a few, creating a buzz in the underground scene and on sites like 2dopeboyz and Okayplayer etc. His song Soul Symphony was ranked as one of the best beats of 2009 by Benji B of BBC Radio, who have been playing Erik's stuff frequently in his shows. Supersci releases free digital EP December 23rd: What It Is EP

To relieve the wait for the album Timelines coming in spring, Supersci give their fans a little extra christmas gift. With the free digital release What It Is EP the Sundsvall hiphop veterans round off the 00's and make a fresh start for 2010.

The EP is released on Flyphonic.com on the 23rd of December and consists of four songs. On the title track What It Is, the production team Flyphonic has crafted a raw sound from their more electronic side of things. Noun and Arka make energetic elaborations on the values of Supersci.

The minimalistic sound of Devastation makes your mind wander to times when the universe only consisted of two turntables and a mic. DJ Devastate from Helsingborg in southern Sweden, known for his release on legendary label BBE, lays the scratches for the chorus.

On the EP there's also a retake of the tragicomical mixtape track Shouldn't Have from earlier this year. Here, Remedeeh joins the autocritique of the band's somtimes somewhat self-destructive lifestyle. Erik L of Flyphonic mixes playful breaks with synthesizer-based 80's-futurism.

The fourth and last song Forests and Factories is a melancholy jazz excursion of the kind that has become Supersci's hallmark. Noun and Arka reflect on life's sometimes slow-moving pace and the low mood they feel in the snow slush, grey streets and dark forests. Arka's mellow production and Erik Ls lingering electric piano finally lead up to a flipped-out spacetrip composed by Bessem Bedziri. A video directed by Måns Berthas, who also made the classic video for Get!, is also in the editing booth.

Stockholm 5/11 - 6/11 LEVIS & Club B-Line (Berns Terrace).

When my album dropped last week i got booked for two shows up in Stockholm. So I jumped on the train, read a book, got off and checked in. The first show was on thursday 5/11 at LEVIS store downtown Stockholm. The event was to promote the store but also a releaseparty for the new issue of CAFE' magazine. Nice crowd, free stuff, good food and free drinks. I had a good time spinning records for over three hours. Big up to Jerry for making it happen!

On friday Segerfalk came to Stockholm and we went to Berns Terrace venue to do a set at Club B-Line. This gig was to promote my album so me and Segerfalk did a Jazz/Funk set the first hours of the night. With me on the decks and Segerfalk behind on keys. When the crowd started forming J-Ro (Alkaholiks) stepped up on the mic to help me out and get the dancefloor going. The later hours of the night got rocked by DJ Mad Mats & Moon-Rock (and me). I got to see and take part of some certified B-Line madness! Real nice night! Peace to Moon-Suck for making it happen!

A sunny Saturday that's not clouded by a hangover is always a good day to take a little detour. DJ Create called me up this morning and we took his Audio 80 out for a spin to the South Swedish countryside. After driving around for a while we found one spot with a lot of wax and records were only 5 kr each. No real catches, but we found some classics. A lot of records from early 80s, I guess some DJ got rid of his full collection. Im posting one of the finds below, the disco classic "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" by INDEEP. Nothing particularly original but definitely a good track for a Saturday night. Have a nice weekend!
