And that’s become especially apparent these past few years as the Fresno, Calif. rapper has dropped one distinguished project after the next. That trend only continues with Seventy Nine, a tightly constructed and ambitious new concept album from Planet Asia and Long Island producer, DJ Concept. Their collective effort helped structure the framework heard throughout Seventy Nine, which is that of a classic ‘79 Seville that narrates their journey. Each track crackles and fades into the next like you’re moving the radio dial, which allows for the smooth transitions within the album (click here to read full press release). Tracklist: 01. Cuts on Big Ape & Shabaam Sahdeeq's - Modern Artillery EP

Shabaam Sahdeeq - Modern Artillery (EP Stream) Featuring Outerspace, Ruste Juxx, Reef the Lost Cauze, Torae, 8thW1, DJ Devastate and PH (RIP) iTunes • Amazon • Google Play • Spotify • Tidal UNKUT WORLD PREMIERE Click to purchase 'Modern Artillery,' via iTunes Brooklyn rap veteran, Shabaam Sahdeeq , is pleased to present his latest work, Modern Artillery ; seven track's worth of straight-up Hip-Hop from a cat who’s perpetually making waves in the underground. That goes for when he was running with Rawkus’ finest, dropping gems as part of Polyrhythm Addicts, and putting out critically acclaimed solo records like last year’s, Keepers of the Lost Art. On Modern Artillery , Sahdeeq further cements his place in rap’s history with some Boom bap help from the gifted Amsterdam-based beatsmith, Big Ape, with cuts courtesy of Sweden’s, DJ Devastate . And a large portion of the project was recorded out in Amsterdam while the rapper was touring Europe in 2012, which also inspired the project’s name. “I realized I was using my art as a weapon,” he said. “Peep the hidden message in the title: Modern ART-ill-ery.” The EP also boasts the likes of Outerspace, Ruste Juxx, Reef the Lost Cauze, Torae, 8thw1, and the late, PH (PumpkinHead). Those last three actually show up on the closing track, “Men of Respect,” an ill posse cut that concludes the project with a commemorative feel. The release represents a collaboration with Dutch/Swedish label Elite Fleet Records, and it’s actually their debut project. Modern Artillery is now available through all major digital retailers, and a limited-edition tape version drops Oct. 17 on Cassette Store Day . A vinyl edition is in the works…stay tuned! El Gant (feat. Torae & DJ Devastate) - "Truth Hurts" (prod. JOAT) Beast Academy Drops 6/10 • Album Pre-Order Now Available 2DOPEBOYZ WORLD PREMIERE Click here to pre-order 'Beast Academy' via iTunes Hip-Hop has always been synonymous with getting money. From the early days of Eric B & Rakim, to the likes of ScHoolboy Q, most artists have treated their music like a business by making meaningful tracks that they're proud of, and getting compensated in the process. But while there's nothing wrong with making bank, you shouldn't have to compromise your sound to please others. For the rappers who are aiming for that low hanging fruit, "Truth Hurts" is the joint that will give their heads a shake, calling out those clones who are only in it for the glory. With El Gant's keenly focused delivery that could melt mics and Torae's equally impressive verse over JOAT's (Jack of all Trades) rugged production, coupled with DJ Devastate's sinister cuts, this is one tune that'll be bumped on the regular this summer. "Truth Hurts" is the latest leak taken from El Gant's forthcoming LP, Beast Academy, which is produced entirely by JOAT, and set to drop on June 10th.Beast Academy is now available for pre-order via iTunes.. wack rappers watch out. Beast Academy is produced entirely by JOAT (Jack Of All Trades) and includes guest appearances from Chris Webby, Ill Bill, Torae, El Da Sensei, Infinity Gauntlet, and more, stay tuned!
