Anthony Hamilton - Comin' From Where I'm From (DJ Devastate & Segerfalk Remix)

"Swedish dj/producer DJ Devastate drops another remix through The Find. After his interpretations on tracks by The Roots and Amy Winehouse, this time he transforms Anthony Hamilton's "Comin' From Where I'm From" together with keyboardist, fusion artist and owner of Analog Sweden, Fredrik Segerfalk.

On the original title song off Anthony Hamilton's second album, the soul-storyteller is assisted by piano keys to talk about getting out of the ghetto. This remix stays true to that with mesmerizing keys. Thumping drums and a soothing sax serve as a perfect backdrop for Anthony Hamilton's introspective lyrics.

The artwork is done by Jonas Hilmersson and Fredrik Segerfalk plays the rhodes. DJ Devastate: "Fredrik is a good friend of mine. He played various instruments on many of the tracks on my album 'Movement/Silence' on BBE Records." Segerfalk runs the studio Analog Sweden in Helsingborg, focused on vintage synthesizers and analog studio equipment."

Check out Segerfalk on the Mini Moog (Analog Sweden)!

Keyboardist Fredrik Segerfalk is a good friend of mine. He played various instruments on many of the tracks on my album "Movement/Silence". Segerfalk is a really talented and easy to collaborate with and we are currently planning for new projects/recordings this winter.

Segerfalk runs the studio ”Analog Sweden” located in Helsingborg and I’m fortunate enough to be able to use it when I need to. The studio is focused vintage synthesizers and analog studio equipment. When the studio needed to sell off a classic Mini Moog Segerfalk did a video demonstrating this legendary synthesizers full potential. My track featured on latest edition of classic compilation "Nightmares On Wax" (Ministry Of Sound)

I was featured on the latest edition of "Nightmares On Wax". This edition is called "Wax Da Beach". This double CD also features Erykah Badu, Will I.Am, Negghead & George Duke. The track on the compilation is called "Don't Stop" and features Segerfalk on rhodes piano and vocoder.

"George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E/Nightmares On Wax has long been a member of the Warp records family. His music was some of the first released on the highly regarded, pioneering electronic label home to artists such as LFO, Jamie Lidell, Autechre and Aphex Twin. Back in 1988 he released his debut album on Warp and has built up a massive global following of loyal fans and connoisseurs of good music alike. After releasing his fifth studio album E.A.S.E. in 2007, George fulfilled his lifelong dream of starting a record label and Wax On Records was born. In tandem to recording further solo material he has built a brand around his own label with artists such as Marcel, Guts, Negghead, Gelka, Hungryghost, The Deadbeats and The Planty Herbs recording for the imprint.

Around the same time as starting the label he moved from his home town of Leeds to settle on the island of Ibiza. He immediately saw a gap in the market for an 'alternative' scene. Fremdtunes - The Series 2 - Out now on Vinyl and DIGI!

I just dropped a instrumental track called "Inside The Silence" on Duth label "Fremdtunes". The track is featured on a EP called "Fremdtunes - The Series 2". The EP is packed with smooth instrumental stuff and funky beats. The track features Segerfalk on various Keyboards. The EP is out on DIGi and vinyl and i will be playing at the releaseparty in Holland June 4th.

"For this EP we collected 6 tracks. The different tracks show a cross-section of the diverse music-styles we focus on.

DJ Optimus kicks off and introduces the world to one of his in-your-face tracks of his upcoming début LP. The track features legendary mc Prince Po (Organized Konfusion) on vocals. French artist Boulaone (Benbellajazz) and Dutch DJ/producer Vindictivdeliver up-tempo, funky swing-tracks while Swedish producer/DJ Devastate ft Segerfalk (BBE Records/Threshold Recordings) adds some great, tranquillizing atmosphere to the EP. Dutch youngster Jameszoo (Kindred Spirits) shows up with outstanding jazzy, spaced out beats and collective Fremdkunst brings the EP to a conclusion with an instrumental song which combines soothing vibes on a hyped, percussive drumbreak. Although the tracks vary in style, all artists share a similar love for the art of cut-and-paste and are all known for being DJ ánd producer. On may 9^th 2011 the digital version is available. The vinyl EP will be out on May 30. The release will be out on Boomkat,Juno and Digital Tunes – amongst others. Distribution of the vinyl is done by Rushhour."

Instrumental track "Inside The Silence" out soon on vinyl!

I'm releasing a instrumental track called "Inside The Silence" on Duth label "Fremdtunes". The track will be featured on a EP called "Fremdtunes - The Series 2". The EP is packed with smooth instrumental stuff and funky beats. Check out the preview below and the Fremdtunes website.

Stockholm 5/11 - 6/11 LEVIS & Club B-Line (Berns Terrace).

When my album dropped last week i got booked for two shows up in Stockholm. So I jumped on the train, read a book, got off and checked in. The first show was on thursday 5/11 at LEVIS store downtown Stockholm. The event was to promote the store but also a releaseparty for the new issue of CAFE' magazine. Nice crowd, free stuff, good food and free drinks. I had a good time spinning records for over three hours. Big up to Jerry for making it happen!

On friday Segerfalk came to Stockholm and we went to Berns Terrace venue to do a set at Club B-Line. This gig was to promote my album so me and Segerfalk did a Jazz/Funk set the first hours of the night. With me on the decks and Segerfalk behind on keys. When the crowd started forming J-Ro (Alkaholiks) stepped up on the mic to help me out and get the dancefloor going. The later hours of the night got rocked by DJ Mad Mats & Moon-Rock (and me). I got to see and take part of some certified B-Line madness! Real nice night! Peace to Moon-Suck for making it happen!
