Whether you were a tagger, a b-boy/girl or a Hip-Hop head, The Artifacts were one of the best to do it on the underground scene back in the day. Its been nearly 20 years since the release of their debut album Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and if you're curious to know how the former Boom Skwad representative El Da Sensei holds up on the mic in 2014, you'll see that he hasn't lost a step with his latest effort, "Show Stoppa." Featuring a sparse and bouncy beat with sharp cuts supplied by DJ Devastate, the jam has the New Jeruz native dropping bombs like it was 94' all over again. "Show Stoppa" is taken from Coalmine Records' forthcoming compilation album Unearthed (Mixed by DJ Revolution) which is scheduled to drop on May 13th via CD and digital download.. stay tuned!

"We never went gold or platinum, but we stood for a lot," says El Da Sensei of his original group, The Artifacts. This October will mark 20 years since the Newark, New Jersey duo released their Atlantic Records-backed Between A Rock And A Hard Place, spawning hits like "C'Mon With The Get Down" and "Da Wrong Side Of The Tracks."
Within, El and partner Tame One helped pioneer intricate wordplay and complex rhyme patterns, transmitting messages of smoking an abundance of herb, vandalizing trains with graffiti, and enjoying a Tri-State lifestyle that seems list in today's high-rise luxury apartments, hiked fares, and designer drugs (click here to continue reading).

J-Ro & Tash - "My Style, My Game" (Prod. DJ Devastate)

My good friend J-Ro just dropped his new mixtape "818 Antics Vol.2 " on iTunes & Spotify. The mixtape was first released as a Mix-CD but now it's also out as a full DIGI-release on SickBay Records.

I produced the track "My Style, My Game" Ft. Tash. Real cool to get a chance to work with the legendary Alkaholiks.

J-Ro's own words about the project:
"818 Antics vol.2 is a collection of songs from 5 projects I have coming up in the future. Some of them have been heard before but most of them haven't. The songs on this project are from 2008 up until now. My next project will be Boom Bap West. -J-Ro"

Featuring: Blu Toof; E-Swift (of Tha Alkaholiks); King T; Kurupt (of Tha Dogg Pound); LaLa Campbell; Maylay Sparks; Rezee; Styliztik Jones; Tash (of Tha Alkaholiks); Xzibit

Production on Mykill Miers new album "Iron Myk"

Mykill Miers A.K.A The Hitchcock of Hip Hop just dropped a new album called "Iron Myk" today. A great album with features from: Bishop Lamont, Opio ( Souls of Mischief), Sadat X and more. I produced the track "Then The Job Gets Done". Out on ITUNES and CD.

"Underground powerhouse, Mykill Miers, one of Los Angeles' most revered lyricists is embarking on his 5th studio album titled 'Iron Myk' this April.

A bold, mature release; 'Iron Myk' is a culmination of everything Mykill Miers has witnessed and experienced throughout his career from a relative unknown in the scene cutting his teeth on compilation albums and rugged demo classics throughout the 1990's, to releasing his now-classic solo album 'It's Been A Long Time Coming' and his three subsequent releases - 'The Second Coming', 'Trials of Job' and 'Take It In Blood' - as well as his work with his crew, Next Of Kin.

The undeniable lead single 'Give Em Hell' which Mykill Miers produced himself, is the perfect introduction to 'Iron Myk', and captures the intensity and conviction of the Los Angeles hip hop veteran, and underground legend. 'Job Gets Done' produced by Sweden's DJ Devastate serves as the perfect companion track, and in turn captures Mykill Miers' truly international appeal as the two met and began working after Mykill Miers' recent European tour, solidifying his brand and impact on the world as a whole.

Do yourself a favor and cleanse yourself with the true and raw feeling of one of the West Coast's and Hip Hop's finest lyricists with this exclusive selection from April's 'Iron Myk'.

"Göteborg" on DJ Large new mixtape "2Tusen&12"

In 2012 i produced the track "Göteborg" for my old friend, rapper Rico Won. The track was featured on his album "Underverk".

Later that year the track also came out as a remix with a whole bunch of Gothenburg rappers. I don't produce tracks for Swedish rap often so this was cool..

DJ Large latest mixtape "2Tusen&12" is a selection very best of Swedish Hip Hop from 2012. The tape features the Rico track "Göteborg". Check out the mixtape, it's a free download!
