KnoIota Ft. Ed O.G & Jaysaun - Boston Blocks (Produced by DJ Devastate)

Back in 2007 I was spending a afternoon with DJ Create waiting on Maylay Sparks to show up to the studio. Maylay is usually travelling from somewhere so he was late. When he showed up he came straight from Christiania by car, and he had two dudes with him. One of the guys was a New Jersey rapper called KnoIota. That night Maylay Sparks and KnoIota recorded on one of DJ Create’s beats, and from what I remember the track came out dope…

Ever since then we have been cool. Today KnoIota is finally dropping his debut album called “Kno Now Or Never”! He has been working on this album for quite some time and now it’s finally here. I have produced 5 tracks on this album…

When working with KnoIota on this album I also had the privilege to hook up with a bunch of dope 
U.S rappers like: Ed O.G, Jaysaun, Akrobatik, Critical, Termanology, Reks, J-Ro & StreetMass.

Production on Rico Won's new album " Underverk" (Free Download)

I first hooked up with Gothenburg rapper Rico Won back in 2005 when doing cuts for his album "Takin Ova". Later we also recorded a track called "Hardhittin" along with Maylay Sparks.

Some time ago Rico told me he needed a beat for his upcoming Swedish album. I had a real laid back jazzy beat, Rico liked it so we made it happen. The track is called "Göteborg" and Features Lani Mo. The tracks is a tribute to Rico's hometown on the Swedish Westcoast. Download the free track or full album below..

My old friend Maylay Sparks just released his "Best Of Maylay Sparks" album. I first met Maylay back in 2004 in Copenhagen. We have worked on a bunch of tracks since then.

Maylay featured on my first vinyl single (with DJ Create) with a track called "Just Get down". That single also featured Masta Ace (The Hitman). The track called "Just Get Down" was recorded by Don Mario in Christiania. I also produced 5 tracks on Maylays 2008 album "Flaskworthy".

Maylay is a true underground legend, be sure to dowload this album. Big up to homies Sniper & Mad Cune (SNM Squad) and to Reef the Lost Cause & Last Emperor.

New Remix - The Roots "Get Busy" (Free Download)

Nex mixtape out with Fremdtunes & Wax Poetics!

Fremdtunes invited Swedish DJ Devastate (BBE Records) to do a mix for Wax Poetics and to celebrate the release OptiMace’s “The Future Is Not What It Used to Be – Part 1,” a brand new 7-inch out on November 24 2011 with remixes by Big Mister Doom, KRSUR, and Illy Symphony.

Mellow Madness, Vol. 2 is a mix full of laid back music inspired by the Fremdtunes sound. The mix is compiled and mixed by DJ Devastate. Devastate is a producer/DJ from South Sweden. His jazzy instrumental debut album Movement/Silence was released on BBE recordings early 2010. Devastate also released a track on label sampler Fremdtunes – The Series 2 and is currently working on a brand new instrumental solo album and a production album with his crew Elite Fleet.

Fremdtunes is a Dutch independent recordlabel/collective, mainly focussing on (instrumental) producer-based music and worked/works with artists like DJ Optimus, Kelpe, Coco Bryce, Kid Sundance, Mister Adam, Soosh, Mister Critical, Boulaone, Jameszoo, El da Sensei, Erwin Vann, Pierce Warnecke, Superelectric, Prince Po, Klaas Verplancke, Solo Moderna, DJ Grazzhoppa, Gumshoe, and many others.

Keyboardist Fredrik Segerfalk is a good friend of mine. He played various instruments on many of the tracks on my album "Movement/Silence". Segerfalk is a really talented and easy to collaborate with and we are currently planning for new projects/recordings this winter.

Segerfalk runs the studio ”Analog Sweden” located in Helsingborg and I’m fortunate enough to be able to use it when I need to. The studio is focused vintage synthesizers and analog studio equipment. When the studio needed to sell off a classic Mini Moog Segerfalk did a video demonstrating this legendary synthesizers full potential. Check out Dutch artist Mister Adam!

I had a chance to meet dutch artist Mister Adam when playing in Tilburg this summer. He did som super crazy live painting while we where spinning at the venue. Me and Adam will definitely collaborate more in the future. Thought i would upload some work from his new project "Mashville" and the painting he did this summer enjoy!

"Mashville is a collaborative art project initiated by Mister Adam and drJay. Likeminded artists are invited to exchange or create images and ideas in order to create a surprising screenprint. One of the parties creates an image and then passes it on to the collaborating artist. The image goes back and forth, until both parties are satisfied with the obtained result. Finally that result will be screenprinted. A process we started to call "image pingpong", the Mashville way."

Ossian Theselius, Kärleksklubben and DJ Devastate Makin It Funky!

Recorded a DJ-Mix for Kärleksklubben new campaign "Make It Funkier". Kärleksklubben is one of South Swedens premiere clubs for urban music and for this video they have collaborated with Swedish artist and Secret Wars champion Ossian Theselius. The concept is easy, Kärleksklubben can make anything funkier. Regardless how well established and respected a brand is Kärleksklubben will pimp it up. Ossian gets down with some freestyle art on a fresh pair of Air Force One's and i mixed some classic tracks to it. Check out the video below, enjoy!
