My track featured on latest edition of classic compilation "Nightmares On Wax" (Ministry Of Sound)

I was featured on the latest edition of "Nightmares On Wax". This edition is called "Wax Da Beach". This double CD also features Erykah Badu, Will I.Am, Negghead & George Duke. The track on the compilation is called "Don't Stop" and features Segerfalk on rhodes piano and vocoder.

"George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E/Nightmares On Wax has long been a member of the Warp records family. His music was some of the first released on the highly regarded, pioneering electronic label home to artists such as LFO, Jamie Lidell, Autechre and Aphex Twin. Back in 1988 he released his debut album on Warp and has built up a massive global following of loyal fans and connoisseurs of good music alike. After releasing his fifth studio album E.A.S.E. in 2007, George fulfilled his lifelong dream of starting a record label and Wax On Records was born. In tandem to recording further solo material he has built a brand around his own label with artists such as Marcel, Guts, Negghead, Gelka, Hungryghost, The Deadbeats and The Planty Herbs recording for the imprint.

Around the same time as starting the label he moved from his home town of Leeds to settle on the island of Ibiza. He immediately saw a gap in the market for an 'alternative' scene. That gap became Wax Da Beach, a weekly gathering of DJ's and musicians on a beach setting which has since moved around various locations on Ibiza. This concept grew from solely beach events to club nights and large one off live events on the island. Whether you go to a Wax Da Beach, Wax Da Jam or Wax Da Pool event, you're guaranteed good vibes. The album 'Wax Da Beach' is a carefully chosen mix of some of George's favourite records as well as music from his own label and a selection of Nightmares On Wax classics. It truly captures what he's created both on and off the island of Ibiza during his twenty year musical journey."

Amy Winehouse – Stronger Than Me (DJ Devastate Tribute Remix)

I did a little tribute remix to Amy in collaboration with Duth site/magazine The Find Mag. I'll copy paste the article from thefindmag.com below. Enjoy......

"Frankly, everyone saw it coming. But that doesn’t take away the fact it was a shock to hear that soulful singer Amy Winehouse passed away at the age of 27. Today she’s cremated after a funeral ceremony for friends and family. To show dedication to Amy, DJ Devastate did this tribute remix of ‘Stronger Than Me’, right now exclusively available on TheFindMag.com.

Music: Amy Whinehouse – Stronger Than Me (DJ Devastate Remix)

Her beautiful voice combined with a minimalistic groove makes this tribute remix a great surprising result compared to the original. Thanks to DJ Devastate from Sweden for paying hommage to Amy in a respectful way and thanks for making it an exclusive release to The Find Magazine!

You can download the tribute remix for free below.

Gig in Holland with Fremdtunes (Releaseparty)

Came back from a great weekend with DJ Optimus & the Fremdtunes crew. Optimus picked me up at the airport (Friday) and took me to his studio/house in Rotterdam. Dope beats, studio and food. Later that same night Optimus had a gig at Breda Jazzfestival together with Carlos De Wijs. The festival seem to be one of the big events of the summer with people and stages everywhere. I had a walk to check out the vibes. During saturday we took the opportunity to work on some beats and came up with some cool stuff. Then it was time to leave for Tilburg and the venue 031. The gig was the Fremdtunes labelnight. I did a set with two other DJ’s (Coco Bryce & Solo Moderna). The graphical designer for the label Mister Adam painted some amazing stuff live! Good times...
